What we do

Programmes for cocoa farmers, societies, and buyers
Farmer services

Farmer services

Extension & GAP training

Field schools and demonstrations on pruning, shade management, integrated pest and disease control, and soil health—aligned with COCOBOD and industry good agricultural practice.

Post-harvest support

Guidance on pod breaking, fermentation boxes, drying mats and solar dryers where available, so members produce well-fermented, low-mould beans that meet buyer specifications.

Records & farm business

Help with production books, member registers, and traceability data so societies and the union can report clearly to regulators and premium programmes.

Cocoa aggregation and quality

Aggregation & quality

Licensed buying & bulking

We support societies to receive members’ wet and dry cocoa at approved scales, with transparent tickets and onward movement to licensed warehouses and LBC channels as applicable.

Grading & standards

Internal checks on moisture, bean count, and defects; referrals for fumigation or re-drying when needed—protecting the union’s reputation with every bag sold.

Marketing and co-operative programmes

Marketing & programmes

Collective marketing

We negotiate as a bloc with buyers and processors, pursue Living Income Differential and quality premiums where eligible, and share market information with society leaders.

Member welfare

Social initiatives decided by members—such as educational support, health screenings, or funeral solidarity—funded from transparent union surpluses and partner projects.

Child protection & sustainability

Community awareness and monitoring aligned with national cocoa child protection frameworks; promotion of agroforestry and climate-smart practices on member farms.

Society strengthening

Training for secretaries, treasurers, and purchasing clerks on co-operative law, meetings, elections, and conflict resolution so primary societies run smoothly.

Certification readiness

Preparation for Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, or company programmes—internal control systems, maps, and documentation support for members who opt in.

Input & service linkages

Where possible, bulk purchase of fertiliser, PPE, and tools, or referrals to trusted suppliers—always with member choice and clear pricing.
